More About Angela Hill
Throughout my career I have been fortunate enough to serve children and families in a variety of roles. I’ve been a centre-based early childhood educator, taught preschool and kindergarten, and worked in early education research. I also spent many years as a professional facilitator where I educated parents and professionals on child development, trauma-informed care, developmental trauma, and loss and grief. As a volunteer I have served multiple organizations who strive to expand the best practices for all professionals who work with children and families. Currently I am a member of the executive of the Alberta Association of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (AAIECMH) where I help create opportunities to expand the knowledge and skills of myself and other professionals.
I am passionate about creating communities where every child can flourish and being able to support families as they welcome new little ones is where this all begins. I love how as a postpartum doula I am able to provide families exactly what they need in the moment whether that is a hot meal, an encouraging word, suggestions for infant care, referrals to resources, or a shoulder to cry on. Thanks to my years of experience in early learning and care I am particularly well positioned to support families who are learning to re-balance life with older siblings as they welcome new little ones. I also bring a depth of knowledge in meal-prep for dietary restrictions, particularly vegetarian and vegan diets. I truly believe it takes a village to raise a child and I feel honoured to be part of that for each family I work with.
